2001 Ford Zx2 serpentine belt not spinning, but car still runs and drives. Any ideas?

My cars steering wheel locked up on the highway today and the little battery light came on, but when I gassed it it still drove. I managed to get it home where I saw that the serpentine belt wasn’t spinning, but was intact. Any ideas for fixing ?
