[Gear] Need help with schecter, don't know what's wrong with it.

GEAR

Hello r/Guitar, I've been playing the acoustic for several years now and just recently got into electric. I came home this winter and decided to take my brother's electric for a spin. However, I remembered that there was something wrong with it, and I don't know what. I tried tuning it, but it just sounded weirder, and a couple of the strings snapped. I can't remember if it had to do with the nut or the bridge, but I remember that this guitar required a bit of maintenance.

So for those who own a Schecter, specifically the Diamond Series, I could really use some help. What do you do to maintain your electric? Is there any special or particular thing I need to know/do? Thank you!
