What a difference a good coach makes...! Shout out to Geoffrey Steinbacher. Coach at GPS Human Performance

I’ve been a remote student of Geoffrey’s for about 3 weeks now (have had other coaches) and I had my first inperson coaching today. I’ve learnt so much over this time. I’m a 47 year old male, I started this weightlifting journey this year about 8 weeks ago and while I’ve had to get the mobility in place I’m at the point where I feel confident in hitting a full low position catch in the snatch. I honestly wasn’t sure if even that was a realistic goal within the first 6 months. I’m no natural athlete and didn’t start from a high level of fitness.

I searched for a coach like Geoff because I wanted someone who was competitive and who would understand the challenges of coaching a masters class Novice. I’m well and truly bitten by the weightlifting bug.

To anyone reading who thinks they’re too damned old to start this amazing sport - you’re never going to find out until you try and give yourself the best shot by finding a coach who can guide you.

Thank you Reddit and YouTube for the mega tons of free advice and Geoff. I’ll even be brave enough soon to post a form vid!!

Cheers!
