Blue light on road

My brother and I were driving back home after the gym at night, around 9pm. And I saw a neon bright blue light, in the middle of the road on the opposite direction. We both saw that straight-line blue light and I thought it was some kind of a new invention for bikers. I told my brother that it was a bright light. Right after I said that, we drove pass it and our car's light shine on it, it disappeared. There was no biker. We looked at each other, speechless. Has anyone seen something like this before?
