Experience using paid dating sites?

In the past 18 months, I’ve tried Tinder (alright), Bumble (alright), Hinge (meh), Coffee Meets Bagel (meh), and The League (terrible). I’ve spent most of my time on Bumble, and have had the best luck there... but still not great luck.

After so many dates I’ve lost track (I’d guess 40 first dates, maybe 10 second dates, and 3 1-2 month flings that didn’t pan out?), I’m ready to try something new, because obviously what I’m doing isn’t working. I’m an attractive, early 30s professional in a large city, so you’d think dating would be fun and easy — but it’s been significantly harder to find a compatible match who is a good conversationalist, good in bed, and looking for the same things I’m looking for (equal partnership, marriage/kids, etc) than it was a few years ago the last time I was doing the online dating circuit. I’ve tried being really picky in who I go out with, and I’ve tried giving guys a chance who I might not otherwise. I’ve tried taking a break from dating, and I’ve tried playing the numbers game so going on as many dates as possible. I’ve switched up my approach multiple times, and now I’m thinking that maybe I need to start looking at a different pool of people.

So... maybe subscription based services? What are sites like Match like? Has anyone tried a matchmaker?

Edit: if anyone has any experience or insight with how the users of various sites (tinder vs match, okcupid vs hinge, etc) tend to differ, that could be helpful! Of course those would just be anecdotal stereotypes based on your own experiences... but if well-educated, employed and confident men interested in serious relationships with an equal tend to flock to a certain type of site (swipe app vs paid, for example), I’d love to know that!
