Is there any way to make a base that'll survive the 7th day horde night without glitching the new AI pathing?

My old method of surrounding my base with 7 layers deep of wood spikes failed miserably on the 7th day horde. Every base I've seen others make is some gliched out trap, but I don't want to play like that. Any suggestions?
