Bell gargoyles help

I’m a veteran Bloodborne player but this is my first time getting into Dark Souls! I’m having a really hard time with the Bell Gargoyles. I can get though the first part of the fight no prob but as soon as the second one appears and breaths fire I’m undead toast... Any tips from you guys that helped you though your first play through of the asshole twins?
