Is it ok to take cbd before/ after top surgery?

Mind you, this is CBD hemp I’m talking, not whole plant or anything with THC. I use CBD for relief from some of my chronic illness symptoms, and I’m just wondering if it’s okay to be on before top surgery and during recovery. I don’t smoke weed at all, although my partner does (never inside, it makes me ill), so I doubt I’ve had any amount of exposure to it that would matter. Juuuust the CBD. I’m also hoping I can ease into taking that instead of whatever pain pills they give me, since I hate the side effects from those.
