2k19 is my first 2k game
So this is the first 2k game ive ever played. I've never been a fan of realistic basketball games or any realistic sports game I came from playing nba street vol 2, 3 NFL street etc. My friend was over and was playing 2k and it looked like a mixture of street and real NBA together with the whole neighborhood and everything. With this being my first 2k I just want to say some of the pros and cons from my perspective might not cover everything
PROS
Badge grinding isnt bad it's fun to give your player a boost with the different levels and gives you a feeling of accomplishment
My career storyline is actually pretty good and pretty immersive in the beginning
Advanced dribbling is pretty skill based you really cant spam and get that far and the really good dribbers have to train pretty hard to consistently do the advanced stuff because of the timing
I like the shooting system for getting the timing down
I like the archetype system it makes the game challenging dealing with bad matchups and sometimes good matchups
The park setup nice and it feels like a realistic community with the whole cell phone system, swag, footlocker and all
The shot creator and general animations are all pretty fire only thing is I hear alot of them are recycled from previous games which would suck if I played the previous versions
I saw some 2k18 gameplay thank God they got rid of that zig zag shit with shoves In this game that shit looked cancerous lol
I like the realism with height and weight wingspan and how it affects your game
The training facility definitly helps out with badge grinding and makes you a better player imo
takeover is a cool feature feels like a level one gamebreaker and team takeover like a level 2 lol
CONS
Rep grinding is absolutely horrible once you get to about 90 and gets even worse the higher you go I would be okay with it if the speed of 90 continued all the way to 99 but it just gets even slower from there. There are people at 95 getting 90k at the end of career games only going up 0.1 percent the average player playing full offense and defense is gonna get 20k so imagine grinding at 95 that's dumb
Stealing in this game makes no sense. Half the time I poke the ball my player wont pick it up he'll run past it kick it or the CPU will just pick it back up even if I just stand over it the pick up detection on this game isnt good at all I could understand if I randomly ran into him but if I press steal on purpose and the ball hits the ground I should pick it up
Tipped passes and blocking layups and dunks.. when you tip passes in this game the ball literally just floats to the persons that they were passing too as if you didn't even tip it at all. When you block dunks or layups the person gets the ball instantly like theres no recovery frames whatsoever lol
The servers for online are not good people can lag switch and alot of times when it lags the game continues even though its saying to reconnect if the game creators dont fix anything atleast make the whole game pause while it's trying to reconnect so you dont run out of bounds
McCourt latency is horrid if you play 1v1 in my court the latency from you hitting a button and your player moving is crazy it's much better in the neighborhood but it being that bad with only 2 people in your house makes the whole indoor feature useless.
My career CPU is pretty op on good teams some games are scripted I understand but some games are just annoying to play because they dont miss on pro and sometimes your team will purposely leave people open so you lose shits wack
Also wack when you have 100% team chemistry and they dont pass you the ball immediately which is also aggravating
CPU in my career snatch passes way too frequently youd think they got HOF quick reflexes
50 dollars is too much just to get a guy to level 85 should be 20 25 which is standard for additional content on a game like people spent 60 just to spend another 50. They know people will make more than one build they'd probably make more money at 25 tbh but it is what it is
I'm not mad about the brown shirt not getting to play culture because its really the game creator fault for making it 50 dollars to upgrade the player it sucks for those who has their parents buy the game just to try to get their parents to spend an additional 50 on a add on VC shits tuff
Limitless range probably shouldn't be a thing lol
My career CPU suck at getting rebounds you can have your whole team at the rim and one guy from the other team will get the rebound 6 or 7 times and score
You lose way too much teammate grade for not being super close to the guy you're supposed to be covering and the constant spam that gets you a F immediately is insane because it doesnt match or even come close to how much teammate grade you get when you're doing everything right
2v2s should be loosers ball simple
Cant customize animations in MyCourt
I can't think of anything else right now but if you made it this far thanks for reading I am enjoying this game though I'm definitly not making it to 99 though they need to change that they make 99 pretty much impossible unless you sell your soul to satan
