Low oil level light on at startup

I have a 98 lumina i bought from my dad a couple months ago. The low oil warning light comes on at startup and turns off after about a minute. It's not the low oil pressure light that looks like an oil can. Oil is absolutely not low on the dipstick, and it happens less frequently after an oil change. Is this cause for alarm? Thanks in advance for any answers.
