Sleeping in the same bed than your girlfriend/boyfriend

Hey there everyone, kind of an odd question but is it common in your country to sleep in a different bed than your SO if you're not married while staying at her/his parent's place ?

To add some context to my question, one of my biggest culture shocks in Costa Rica is that have to sleep in a different room than my girlfriend anytime we stay at her parent's. They're a middle class family, religious but not really conservative. My girlfriend told me that it was quite common in her country and, unless you're married, you can't really share a bed under your parent's roof. What about your country ?
