Car Drying Question

Hello,
New to this sub, but I really appreciate all of the great info on here.Very new to car detailing. Just bought my first new car. My question is, can I use a drying agent (like D156) and still dry my car by just padding it with a microfiber towel? I've heard this D156 works wonders, but it seems like everyone is rubbing it in when drying. Can I spray it on and then just dab it with a towel instead of rubbing it in with a towel? I have a new Black Accord Sport and want to minimize scratches at all cost. Thanks!
