The Standard Book of Spells: Grade 1
Hey y'all!
So I have a weird hobby of making textbooks from my favorite movies/tv shows/books. My current focus is making a replica of The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1 by Miranda Goshawk. My problem is that I don't know what to put in it. I've found a list of what is in the book on wikipedia/pottermore/various locations across the internet, but all of my searchings is kinda... empty, I guess. There are only eight or so spells that I can find that are more or less confirmed in HPbooks, which seems kind of lame. I'm trying to add more so it's cooler to flip through (and not 20 pages long) but I'm having trouble deciding what charms to put in the book.
Because I'm doing Grade 1, they have to be something that an eleven-year-old noob can perform, leaving things like aguamenti out, which requires the ability to conjure things. Also, considering that the Charms final exam in PS is to make pinapples dance, there have to be other things not listed on the wiki page.
So far I have...
- Lumos/Nox (technically chapter 2 according to the wiki, but oh well)
- Alohomora /Colloportus/anti-alohomora charm
- Spongify/ the hardening charm (not sure if it's canon or not, but it's in there)
- The fire-freezing charm (not sure when they learn this, but it makes sense to learn it early on to me)/Incendio
- The Severing Charm/The Mending Charm
- ?????? Something easy but not too easy
- Wingardium Leviosa (confirmed to be chapter 7)
- ???? again, not sure what would be a set of spells to learn for a first year
- Sound Charms (totally something I made up, but sounds like fun)
- Moving Charms (based off of the dancing pinapple, all incantations I've made up)
- Color-changing Charm (sort of made up, based off Ron/Scabbers, on wiki under the name colovaria)
- Taste-Changing Charm (totally made up, but sounds like fun)
Do you have any ideas? (Hopefully, this isn't annoying. I can share it with y'all when I'm done, if you'd like!)
