Skilled programmer looking for an interesting portfolio-building project

Hey all,

I'm a skilled programmer. I have some experience interning in the financial industry as a software engineer. I know c++,c,c#,java, python, javascript. I also know how to program on the GPU using OpenGL. I know a little bit of React web development. I'm good at writing systems programs that need to run efficiently, but I'm engineer and I can use whatever tools are necessary to do the job. I'm currently on last year of university, I'm only here for the piece of paper at the end. I taught myself everything.

I'm looking for a fun portfolio building project to fill my free time, if it makes us money that's great but I'm not expecting it. I'm also trying to avoid the overly ambitious dream projects that some beginners here and other forums have.

Please let me know if you're interested in me contributing to whatever project you have

Thank you!
