Moving in to Perth

Hello Perthies (that's what Google said a people from Perth are known as), I will be moving in to Perth Feb 2019 for my postgraduate degree at UWA, I wanted to know which would be the best place for me to stay if not the Uni campus, also are part time jobs easily available, I would be looking for a part time in IT industry and would like to know about the availability and also how affordable is Perth compared to eastern cities, I truly loved everything about Perth just by reading about It, already feels like a home away from home
