Thoughts After Rewatching Season 2

Okay, I know I did a post like this about season one a few days ago and I'm not going to be annoying and make posts about every season. But, I just barreled through a rewatch of season two and since it's the most emotionally charged (and best) season, I have another long essay of takes I'd like to share:

- Okay, this season's reunion is the most exhausting reunion I have ever watched. Even the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 Reunion didn't distress me as much as this. Everyone was yelling and crying non-stop and I couldn't even sit comfortably in my seat. I don't remember if it fucked me up that much when I first saw it. But, I felt like Andy was about to turn to me and ask me how I felt and hand me a tissue. I probably needed him to.

- This could be a really unpopular take but I feel like pre-wedding Scheana was not nearly as insufferable as our present day Scheana Marie. Sure, she was still self-absorbed and self-victimizing and delusional. But, I didn't really dislike her in this season, for the most part. I was laughing hysterically, though, when the fight between Jax and Sandoval broke out at her party and she was just worried that her tooth would fall out lmao.

- Stassi and Scheana's storyline reminds me of Janis Ian's backstory of how she was just trying to be friends with Regina George and Regina thinks she's just obsessed with her and wants to steal her life. Why is Stassi complaining about Scheana telling Lisa about their fights when all they do is tell Lisa about their drama? Also, even if Scheana was blowing the surgery out of proportion, just say I'm sorry. It is true that she was the only one who had Stassi's back when her friends ditched her and after she was a complete asshole to her (Also, I hate that I'm taking Scheana's side).

- Kristen is so fake. I screamed when she said "When have we ever been friends, Scheana?" Oh, I don't know. Maybe when you dropped your so-called best friend and was cheering at Scheana's performance and telling her she's amazing and inviting her over to your apartment and saying you never had a problem with her and it was all Stassi's fault? Fraud.

- Who even threatens to end an entire friendship because your best friend is in a terrible relationship? Even if you think they're being a dumb ass (and those moments do make you mad), you just sigh and let them make their own choices and remember it's not your life. Katie and Stassi were being really awful friends.

- Why is Kristina even on the show? She brings nothing but a sour attitude. Also, her dig at Kristen wasn't even cute or funny. I bet she smells like Pumpkin Spice Lattes and bad spray tans.

- Similar to Scheana, I liked Sandoval in this season, in general, more than I usually do. I think he made a change for the worse when he got with Ariana. I've always said she negatively influenced him and you start to see it in the reunion when he starts parroting her speech and telling Kristen she has borderline personality disorder. He probably didn't even know what it was until Ariana read the Google search results to him. He was just harmlessly cocky before but getting with Ariana made him arrogant in an unlikable way.

- Speaking of which, I wish this aired today so Ariana would be rightfully dragged online for her mental illness-shaming. She's not chill. She's a patronizing bore. Kissing someone else's boyfriend isn't "small." Just because you didn't do anal doesn't mean it wasn't a big deal. I could write a whole other essay on how gross she was throughout this whole thing and how she created this "girl who cried wolf" narrative for Kristen that everyone unfortunately ran with and that was so effective because Kristen is so unhinged.

- Stassi should have actually been a detective. This season made me realize that I see myself in her, which is kind of scary, in terms of how well she reads people and can get to the bottom of anything. Seriously, she is very smart and perceptive and intuitive.

- Jax is a soulless monster but that just goes without saying.

Whew, I am emotionally exhausted. Season two is such a roller coaster.
