[Discussion] Has anyone read "Children of Blood and Bone" by Tomi Adeyemi yet?

The book overall was okay, but I was not that impressed. I did like the ending though, and look forward to the next book in the series. Am I missing something? This book did so well in reviews pretty much everywhere and was so hyped up but when I read it I got a little bored and I feel like Adeyemi skipped parts of the story that I would of liked her to explain further.
