Griffith’s gnat , should I chuck them or keep trying?

Hey trout fisherman, does anybody ever catch anything on a Griffith’s gnat? I mean is this a confidence fly for anyone fishing for trout. I’ve carried these damn things in my fly box for over twenty five years and never caught a thing on one. I must admit, they spend more time in my box than on the water but I associate this with the poor showing when I’ve tried them.
