###Salvini Under Padanian Pressure!

The League has been riven by internal division, mostly unseen thus far, as a strong section of the party has sided with the growing Padanian nationalist sentiment in the north, seeing it as the best option to win their constituencies. The Prime Minister has attempted to play both sides of the party, holding off a potential party split until the election in a couple of months, but today made a statement that many in the south found to be extremely concerning. Upon heavy questioning on whether Padania was a faulty idea and what his stance on the issue of Padanian independence was, he fired back aggressively, stating that "Padania is not a dead concept, it has much potential, and we cannot dismiss it as an option for the League, ever".

Media coverage of the event showed the Prime Minister pausing slightly after the statement, before calling an end to the press conference and retreating to his Facebook to post a pre-prepared pro-League video. While the League has been performing consistently well in the polls due to the implementation of federalism being popular across most of the country, this latest statement cause a huge north-south divide in party polling, as the north of the nation flocked towards the governing party and the centre-right coalition. Similarly, nationalist sentiments in the south have been riled up, as the Democratic Party attempt to coordinate these elements in order to create a coherent bloc in the face of the upcoming February elections.

With the majority of the population residing in the north, the Italian elections are favoured strongly towards the League and Salvini's centre-right coalition, especially as the 5SM still mount a reasonable campaign across the majority of the nation south of Emilia-Romagna, where the League have not managed to steal as many votes from the former governing party. This is sure to be one of the most split-elections.

In addition, with the implementation of the federal system, regional elections have all been aligned with those of the general elections, meaning that the nation will surely see a massive turnout - the future of the Italian nation lies in the hands of her people.
