Este student looking for experince in a medical setting

I'm thinking of calling local Derm. Offices and medical offices that offer este. Positions. I want to shadow in an office and I'm wondering if anyone else has tried/done this. I think its be a good way for me to see and experince a medical setting. As I'm only surrounded by my school setting. Should I go in person,call or email?

Ex) "hi I'm an esthetics student at ____ and I'm looking for an opportunity to speak with a doctor at your facility." Go in and meet the doctor with the intention of asking to shadow or just asking upfront.
