[No spoilers] Can we talk about how this show portrays AI?

Hello!

As much as I enjoy the plot of this show, and I love it, I'm especially intrigued by the way they're portraying AI. I'm not super into the whole "What is AI even?"-thing, but I think it's so fascinating and interesting.

I love to see how different shows make different ways of explaining how the AI works, why it works like that, etc.

I don't know what about it makes this show one of the best I've watched (together with The 100), but I think it's because they tried to explain how The Director works, and why it's capable of working that way. I like the whole thing about the travelers constantly knowing they're being watched, and that the only way to hide is to stay away from electronics because that's how the AI can see. I especially liked how they in season 3 gets into further details about how The Director works, access to the internet, how it learns, it's capabilities, Ilsa, etc. Now, obviously I'm not nearly smart enough to actually understand everything they say, and I don't know if or how it would work in reality. I just like that they try, it makes it seem more real.

What do all of you think about the portraying of AI in this series? Is it something you've even thought about before? Please, I would just love to discuss this with someone! Also, I would love it if you have any recommendations for other shows with AI.
