What's the game pad? The Xbox looking controller? I have that and have my headset hooked in to it. When I test my mic on steam it shows a readout. Maybe it's a compatibility issue with the headset it's self

So far the voice chat is only available while using the Shield TV Gamepad. I just added voice chat feature to the shield so give it time I am sure they will figure it out to work with other headsets. 

I have tried multiple headsets including phone earbuds although none of them work. NVIDIA does offer compatibility with gaming keyboards and mice so I am sure eventually they will implement the headset mic. 

I just got the shield for Christmas and absolutely love it but recently I noticed when I use my turtle Beach headset my microphone isn't working. I can hear audio fine just no mic. Any suggestions?

Help with in game audio.
