Module for Extron SMP-series of products?

Hello - wondering if there's a known existing module already written for Extron's SMP-series of recorders (111/351). May need to swap out a Capture-HD and would like to avoid reinventing the wheel if possible. Thanks!

Not really. The protocol is pretty straight forward though.

I don't actually do much programming myself so it's hard for me to estimate, but how much time would you expect to need for adding this to a system - would need to provide basic transport controls (play/pause/stop/record), feedback for recording activity, and display recording length / time remaining?

go check out the manual and look for the SIS section. it is REALLY straightforward. It will probably take around an hour to implement and test I would imagine.

Got it, thank you.

I'd say a few hours to fumble through it.

If you determine the full scope of what you need before opening the SIS manual, you'll be able to get it done much faster.

Thank you, I appreciate the input.

Feedback parsing the hardest part of something like this, if you're good with S+ or S# and pulling data from strings you'll be fine.

I generally just fake feedback with my Extron modules, Chip Moody has a write up for extracting true feedback from an Autopatch switcher here: http://crestrontutorials.blogspot.com/2006/08/string-parsing-in-simpl-101-part-1.html

I've done many times with a Serial IO and a handful of logic.

Usually should take about 2 hours to implement most common functions.

I would be willing to write you a module for $ remotely and be available to test it with you. Pm me.
