After Years of Not Getting It, I've Spent the Last Few Weeks Playing The 2D Games

Accomplishment

I've fallen totally in love with the series and by extension the genre. I always assumed Metroidvanias just "weren't for me" but picking up Zero Mission was so much fun that I then went to Fusion, then Super, and now have just finished AM2R. I'm hoping for a port of the Prime trilogy to Switch before Prime 4. In the meantime maybe I'll go back through Super and try to get all items or a faster time.

Ranking of the games I played:

Super Metroid (10/10)

Metroid Fusion (9/10)

AM2R (8/10)

Metroid Zero Mission (8/10)

Glad you enjoyed them. I’m praying to the NintenGods that we get the Prime trilogy on Switch.

I'm more than "familiar" with Metroid 1 (owned it like 5 times over) and it's pretty much impossible for me to play nowadays. Metroid 2 and Samus returns are the only 2d games I have yet to touch

Once your done with the Metroid games, try out Axiom Verge. It's basically Metroid with a different coat of paint, and it's on so many platforms. Switch, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS Vita.
