Surround sound (True 5.1) and bass.

Help !

Hello, a few patch ago I was really happy about the audio modification that happened, I do not know the detail. But I felt like my headset was fully in use. Great 5.1, and great bass. However I saw many people complaining on diver platform.

Today I launched IL2 and to my surprise the improvement is gone. The lack of bass is really obvious, 5.1 seems to work fine.

Any idea what happened and if I could get my bass back tweaking some config file?

They haven't changed anything audio wise in a looong time. Most likely all those changes are on your end.

That is what I though at first cause I didn't read anything audio related in the patch note. But then why many many people reporting audio "problem"?

Apparently it was either 3.006 or 3.007 or one of their hotfix.

After that I saw people report missing sound as here or using In Game chat or Discord..

Hi,

I have 5.1 speakers and every time windows forces one of its bigger updates it basically wipes out all my audio settings, and that typically impacts bass/center channel.

Check if the sound is working properly on other programs or games and check your speaker configuration if you have not done so yet.

Yep, checked. It is like the game doesn't send anything to the "Sub" channel. While it did after that patch that didn't lasted.

Shooting the gun.. Increasing throttle would make my headset rumble quite a fucking lot, I had to lower down the "volume" on that specific sub/woofer channel. It was great.
