Hey r/gamming, I have shared this story with many other people and its about time that I shared this story with you

So, back in my old job, I used to live just 20 mins away from my brother and his wife. So just about every weekend, I would visit them for dinner. However, one evening, the Wii had a midnight launch at the local Wall-Mart. I didn't know they had a midnight release until that afternoon so I immediately went out of my apartment and waited in line (I ended up being #21 out of the available 25).

However, I forgot to tell this to my brother and my sister-in-law about this so my sister-in-law called me up at around 9PM and asked "Hey where are you? Weren't you going to come here for dinner?". Then I responded, "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, I made a change of plans. I am right now waiting in line for Wii". However, she thought I said "waiting in line for weed". The rest of the conversation went like this (note that I thought she properly heard me saying "Wii"):

Her: Are you sure you want to do this? Is it worth it?
Me: Yeah. I know this is something that I really want to do.
Her: Well, what if you get addicted?
Me: I already am. Didn't you know, I go at it almost 20 hours a week!
Her: Well, isn't this habit expensive?
Me: Yeah, but I saved up money from work for this.
Her: What do you think your Mom and Dad will say?
Me: They're fine with it. Actually, I was thinking of getting them one as well.
Her: Where are you getting it?
Me: Well, I have to wait in line right outside of the Wall-Mart. They'll give it to us at midnight.
Her: Isn't that dangerous to be out there that late?
Me: Naaa. Its like a party here. I already made some new friends.

At this point, she was flabbergasted by what I said and gave the phone to my brother screaming "TALK TO YOUR BROTHER!!!!!". My brother, who had no clue what was going on, took the phone and then:

Him: Hey, so.... what is going on?
Me: Hey, I am just waiting in line for the Wii.

He properly heard me say "Wii".

Him: Oh, OK. Try to get me one too.
Me: Ok, I'll try.

He then hung up the phone and was wondering why his wife was crying.
