using "womxn" unironically
Can you explain what the march is actually trying to accomplish and also why it seems to be full of strange signs that have very little to do with women’s rights?
Not really, but I’m an attendee, not an organizer. You might have better luck getting that information from the official websites.
Here in lies my problem. People marching but don’t know why.
I know why I’m marching, but I’m not going to give the reason that everyone else is. I’m marching to show solidarity and to be an example of a white man who supports equality across gender, race, class, and ability.
You don’t even have a purpose for the March. You just have a canned response that means very little. My everyday life is an example of a white man showing solidarity with others. But what is the March trying to solve. If you don’t know of s problem or situation you are marching for then you are a false participant contributing to a disillusioned mass.
Why is there an x instead of an e
The Womxn’s March Denver is launching today with the “x” in our name, because we believe in equity and we act with purpose to make space for trans, non-binary, and genderqueer persons in our name. But it is not enough for us to be inclusive in language only. We must all commit to doing the work. We must speak our truths and listen to others speaking theirs. We must commit to anti-oppressive principles and goals, with marginalized persons at the center of our movements. We must act, to dismantle systems that harm, and to create new systems that uplift.
You miss spent women
The Denver March, at least, is branded “Womxn” to include the “intersectionality” beyond just women.
So its a people march since it has men in it too?
What problems are they manufacturing this time?
Same shit that’s been wrong since 2017, that a Russian aligned, misogynist is President of the United States.
