Migraines at Work.

Hi fellow users of this reddit!

I need some advice! Im 19. I've had migraines since I was around 12. I used to have one migraine every year but after I started doing a retail job. I get them every month around 17/18 at the same time. After a few months of tracking down my triggers, I realized it was work. I am not sure if it is because of the bright lights, stress or missing meals. What can i do alleviate the pain/nausea? Should i quit the job or keep at it? I only use naproxen for the pain fyi. thanks!

I would see if you can get ADA accommodations! I had them take out some of the lights over my cubicle, and that helped me a lot. I would also keep things to work that might help you with your pain like an ice pack, peppermint oil, etc

Speak to work, make sure you eat regularly and see if they can do something about the lights (difficult in retail I'd imagine). If you need to quit, quit. Don't risk your migraines becoming chronic as once you're there it's hard to treat.

I was a pharmacy technician at a grocery store and they refused to understand my migraines so I had to quit.

My manager had the nerve to say “we all get migraines and we still come to work and do our jobs” 🙄
