How do you deal with someone with a superiority complex, Reddit?
So I'm working at grocery store X as a bagger. I've been working there for about a year now. Recently, another bagger was hired, for the purpose of this post I'll call him Spencer. Now the first day Spencer comes in, he talks down to ALL of the cashiers, baggers, and produce department people. Basically he mocks everyone except the managers. He came up to me, and said "you look like the kind of guy who doesn't have friends", to which I look at him like he's a fucking madman. Later he brags that he's going to cashiering school before me. Now I would go to cashier school, but it's during the week during HS hours, so it's basically not gonna happen for me. I ask him how he's possibly going to attend the school, and he says he's going to ditch school. To go to a cashiering school for a grocery store. He then goes on to brag about it for about 45 minutes and how he's going to earn 8.95 an hour over my 8.3, and how I've been here for a year and how "they won't let me go to cashier school because I suck". How the fuck am I supposed to deal with someone as obnoxious as this?
edit: Cashiering school is the name given to the week long course on how to use the register. Even though it takes 20 minutes to learn for normal people, a lot of stores send their special ed clerks over there to learn how to cashier and it really does take a full 40 hour week to teach them how to press total.
tldr: read title
