Gamora, I true glass canon and is she worth developing.

A glass canon, just in case your unfamiliar with the term is a character that has a very strong attack but also a very, very weak defense.

I've only been playing for almost 6 months now and I've casually build up gamora. Currently I have her at 5* lvl 51 gear 8 and I just can't believe she has less the 200 armor!? I have others around the same build up with over 1000 armor. And here I am trying her for the first time in the war machine event on hard, she's my 4th best skilled character, but she gets picked off fairly easily due to her terrible defense. I know that there are other better skilled character, but seeing how I'm somewhat new and f2p I'm limited on my skilled selection. And now I'm realizing and baffled at how terrible she really is. I'm sure maybe in blitz or arena she migh do better, but this war machine event just has me not wanting to invest anymore energy into her, not even in a casual manner. What are other people's thought on Gamora? Where have you had Success with her? Or are you like me now and don't even want to bother with her?
