Hey Vegans who have a dog/cat: Would you personally kill a cow to feed your dog or your cat ?
I am vegetarian who eats only locally produced dairy and eggs ( there's hypocrisy on my side, granted).
Yet i find it unsettling that some vegans think that its OK to keep carnivorous animals. Just as meat, pets aren't necessary to survive. Some people like rescuers or farmers will need dogs, but the average person shouldn't just buy/save a dog from euthanasia just to cuddle with - that's my opinion. By cuddling with one's darling one kills hundreds of livestock.
Would he/she be capable of personally killing these animals just to cuddle with her cutiepie sweatheart Mr. Gingles or Fido ?
I certainly wouldn't.
In my opinion stray cats ,dogs and unneeded pups/kittens should be euthanized. It would cause less harm to livestock and would lower the agricultural output needed to sustain human civilization. Hence it would save some acres of a rain forest. Biology dictates that there will always be some evil. Yet this is in my opinion the best way to produce the least evil. If you are feeding dogs or cats only with vegetables go to hell ! They may survive... but they will survive just like if a Finnish person on a vitamin D poor nutrition... with some severe deformities.
