Needed (150/12/3) x 4 levels to max out my Water Altars, and after one trip to Treasure Trade...

Gonna use this opportunity to ask something. Do people usually trade "up" or trade "down"? As in, trade for higher tiers or lower tiers of materials.

I usually trade down as it as you get more out of it. Also, at least in my experience, it is easy to get an excess amount of the gold orb as they are used very little for anything, so there is more of the gold one to spare for trade. You need a LOT of the normal orb for upgrade and if you were to grind, you will reach the amount of silver or gold you need long before you have all the normal orb you need.
Edit: Same for scales.

Medals are more the hangup for me. I keep farming Master level on the assumption that we'll eventually be able to get two silvers for each gold.

They said they would implement it at some point but probably to stave off a sudden jump in progress they're waiting with it.

I think the main thing you need the higher level medallions for is 5* weapons. So if you need a certain elements base medallions and already have at least 200 (or whatever threshold you decide) of the higher tier, use your daily bonus on expert runs instead of master runs.

I only trade down, but mostly because it just ends up that way and I'm always out of normal scales and low orbs

I usually trade down. It's easy to stockpile the higher ones IMO, so the bottlenecks tend to the the first or second tier.

You'd be forgiven for not noticing, because it wasn't in the game at launch. The only reason I ever go to the Treasure Trade shop is specifically for this, so if I hadn't read about it ahead of time, I also wouldn't have known it was a thing.

Material conversion is the best thing to be implemented to this game since Cleo

I'd argue Lucretia, but technically Dragonyule Cleo did come out after that, so you're still right!
