Is it time for a Basic card set revision?
Arbiter has really been a reminder of how out of date many of the basic cards are. I feel this at least part of the problem of the lack of deck diversity within each class in Rotation. These cards are supposed to be part of the class pool, yet most classes are lucky if they have even 2-3 playable cards out of the 11 basics; leaving some builds with a lack of core support to get off the ground. Not just buffing the terrible cards, but things like insuring Forest always has a playable 1PP bounce (making Guidance a basic would make tons of sense to me) and making sure Rune always has some playable earthrite cards in their pool.
I really feel like Cygames needs to set aside some development time and work on the basics. I also think there's just not enough cards in Rotation without a large Standard sized set, and adding 3-4 good, playable cards per class to the basic pool would help a ton. Then every year they can review it and make changes as needed.
