It's Actually Good That Miamians Can't Afford Rent or Groceries, According to Libertarians

Everything you hate about Miami's economic and political structure is actually good and working just fine!
For the wealthy and upper middle class. For the rest, you're expected to live outside of the cities and either commute 2 hours away by car or settle for prison, military, or service industry hell.
For the people who say "this is normal": Where's the Gulags?
Plenty of upper middle class commute 1-2 hours round trip too. They don't have it much better than wage slaves when it comes to commuting.
I live in Toronto, and I think we can all agree that a $100K annual income makes you upper-middle class. That $100K income will buy you a 2hr one-way commute here and it's getting worse every year.
Cities seem to be for two groups of people these days -- the very poor (who receive subsidies and rent-to-income schemes to keep them housed in some pretty primo locations) and the very wealthy (who have no problem paying inflated prices for housing). If you fall between these two extremes (i.e., make too much to get help, but nowhere near enough to afford the 'market rate'), then fuck you, waste 4 hours a day of your life commuting in from Timbuktu and getting 6 hours of sleep per night.
My aunt and my cousins live in a suburb of Toronto. They are about 20 minutes from Toronto downtown and her and her husband constantly work all the time to afford their house.I believe their house is something around $1.5M( US Dollars) which is insane to me.That house here in Chicago suburbs would be around $500k.
Edit:Looks like the suburb is Vaughan.I must have mistaken the drive to downtown. It looks to be around 35-40 minutes.
Sounds about right. 15-20mins to downtown is pretty centrally located, but still annoying when the weather is bad or some idiot wrecks on the road in. The real crisis here, in my opinion, is the unaffordability well outside of where your aunt's place is -- think $800,000 townhouses in Milton and Orangeville, places that are a solid 90mins each way in traffic on a good day. I know a guy who drives in daily from Brantford, and even things there are getting out of control, $500K for a starter dump. For comparison with Chicago, this is like living in Racine and driving to downtown Chicago daily, with little to no public transit helping you out -- and homes that far out still start at $500K+. I've seen $750K townhouses in the same area recently (and they're "condo townhouses", so they come with a $800/mo maintenance/common area fee).
Downtown will always be expensive, yes, but the suburbs (and further) are where you're supposed to go when you can't afford the core. When even those places require two people making $80K annually each?
Class warfare eugenics economics. Libertarians are scum; recruits for the ruling elite new world order Illuminati.
God damn it I can't stand the world
Nooooooo who could have predicted these two things correlate /s.
Libertarians just want the poor to die.
If they do, every one of them should try to take one or more Libertarians with them.
Struggle is what feeds capatilasm.... If everyone was comfortable why would anyone clean bathrooms or serve food etc the scam is easy by the time many figure shit out there old ..they try to tell there kids ..the kids want a new car and a vacation lol
I keep wondering, do these assholes think that their wealth will insulate them forever?
They have an almost religious zeal in the power of the Invisible Hand of the Market. Even if the heretics overwhelm them, they're confident they'll be vindicated.
Well then it's time for you to do some trust busting.
Believe me, I am hard at work looking for a big enough stick.
... of dynamite.
