Happened in today's episode when Alex was reading the categories.
Alex: "It was so Funny", "You had to be there".
Audience: (laughing)
Literally no one actually laughed, it was a laugh track added later. It wasn't even funny or clever, stop the cringe.

FWIW, there is always a live studio audience for all of the shows. I haven't seen the episodes y'all are referring to, but it also wouldn't surprise me if they piped stuff in.
I don't recall ever hearing canned laughter on Jeopardy. I'm not saying that it hasn't happened, just that I've never recognized it as such. I'd be willing to bet a nickel that it does not happen. Just a feeling.
Not only was it used today during the first round category introductions, it was used a couple of times during the "It Was So Funny" category. There is a 0% chance that the laughs at the "driving her" clue were real.
Usually when Alex chuckles at something, they throw in some fake laughs so it doesn't come off as so awkward, but to me it just makes it more cringeworthy.
OK, good catch then. I'll be listening for it. Alex's attempts at humor always fall flat, which is why I never listen to his interviews and interactions with the contestants. I fast forward through 100% of the show that is not actual game play for that reason. Thank heaven for DVR and FF.
Each to his own but you’re missing some fun/interesting/curious insights into the contestants’ personalities. It makes it even better for when they enter here to chime in!
'Bed wetter' was hilarious.
It's probably not fake, as such, but a hammy amplification of the laughter from the audience. This is used in radio comedy a lot (BBC stuff etc).

It is very obviously fake, used too often and super-annoying. Jeopardy! is the last show that should be engaging in such an insult to the intelligence of the viewers.
