ignoring the recent doc from farazelleth detailing the thoughts the the lead game designer stating that they think that it's better for the player if they didn't have full control of their ship

To add a bit to this point for other readers, because I got rather sceptical when I read that. After all, WG isn't exactly good at certain things, but that just seems uncharacteristically stupid of them:

I did a bit of searching on that, and from what I've read it essentially boils down to the WG lead dev having a stance which is more focused on making CV's an accessible class. Not just for the specialized multitasking unicum, but for the average player as well. On the other hand, Fara seems more of the old CV player mindset, including the desire to control everything everywhere.

Now combine that with paraphrasing and word-picking, and you get the comments like u/69big_daddy69 quoted: out of context and just plain incorrect.

I admit not being entirely correct as I haven't fully read the document, mostly just read the points mentioned in the comment I linked.

Whilst I appreciate you elaborating what is actually mentioned in the document and the honestly ridiculous mindset of the LGD, your last section of your reply is very much blowing up a misunderstanding into a major league shitstorm. And it is most likely by all means just that: a misunderstanding.

Just so we're clear: what exactly are you reaching for in your original comment? Because using quotes along with how you're commenting the OP is toxic made me, as a normal adequately competent English reader, interpret it as you quoting OP's previous comments, followed by your view on his mindset on this topic.

Which also influenced how I replied to your comment with a section of it. You quoted him, and I took the quote, of him, that you posted. If you look at the last section of my now crossed out comment, as I can recognise I'm incorrect about something, you see I indirectly mentioned that mindset in my initial reply:

and you get the comments like /u/69big_daddy69 quoted:

In other words: from that line alone it should be pretty obvious I was under the impression you didn't write the things in the quotes, and I took one of those quotes whilst crediting you for quoting them, in a way. Not, as you seem to think it is, that I was insinuating you wrote said quotes, and are hating on the company and/or its employees.

So, again, with what purpose did you write the original comment? Because currently it just doesn't make any sense to me anymore.

If you quoted comments OP made, which would align with your original comment's final section and the nature of the post, why are you under the impression I said you wrote what's in the quotes?

If you listed the issues as additive to show WoWs/WG isn't always improving as the image's text likes to imply, why did you use quotation sections instead of bullet points? Why did you write about how toxic OP is and how people like him are the cause WoWs/WoWs subreddit is dying? After all, those points, including the 'ignoring' in front of them, very much imply a sarcastic comment about the subject. 'WoWs is always improving! If you ignore that they prefer to delete content instead of fixing and improving it.'

To close this pointless shitstorm: Regardless of whether or not I misunderstood the nature of your comment or the LGD's mindset, you blew it way out of proportion because you simply misinterpreted how I wrote the comment, and felt the need to get personally attacked.

LDG is, quite literally , saying that the concept of managing more than one consumable is a "very hard conception for the vast majority of the players". You also realize that DDs usually have smoke, speed boost, torp reload, radar/hydro, etc. right? You also know that they have to watch for the positioning of the radar CAs/CLs/BBs/DDs and try to not get spotted by the CV which is somewhat impossible in the current patch? You also realize that some cruisers are also semi-frontline such as the Germans have to weave in and out of shells from possibly multiple enemies while also possibly avoiding torps?

I'm pretty sure Wargaming has stats for consumable use at different skill levels of players. I'd bet good money that lower tier players use their consumables alot less than higher tier players over the same amount of time their ship was alive and this is prolly what they are pulling this comment from.

EDIT: I should mention I'm not personally in support of auto-consumables on anything but Carrier. I think with how involved plane flying is relative to basically any other ship I'm ok with it on Carriers, but I'd also be ok with it being removed from carriers as long as the 5s fires, 30s floods, and 60 second DCP activiation time was also reverted.

Hell mine are not just attracting dust, they are rusting away in port. Let them settle in the mud, I have lost interest.

still posts nearly every day in the subreddit dedicated to the game

Taylor3006•

I have been playing every single day for over two years now (actually almost 3yrs). Usually play 4+ hours depending on what I have going on and farming 3 crates a day. I also use loads of different ships each day.. I also spend loads of time on the forums and Reddit because I can do so while at work (night shift). I still play every day but for less than an hour and only to farm one crate. Almost every ship I have sits with captains with no skills assigned and no modules installed. I am only using a few low tier ships to play. I feel an obligation to my clan so I don't want them to suffer by me not contributing. I hope that things will change but am doubtful that Wargaming will get their shit together. From what I have seen of them over the years, competence does not seem to be their strength.

Vegetablemann•

Maybe the result of playing for 3 years every day is that you're burnt out. It's not the fault of the game, it's just human nature. I know you say that you don't think WG are competent, I have to disagree. They have turned two very niche genres (tank and ship battles) into two very (relatively speaking) successful games.

While the game may be going through a rough patch right now, it was always coming with the CV rework and will ultimately be better for it. The game is vastly improved since I first started playing.

After grinding to the hakuryu for 3 years, WG just decides to delete the entire class. The amount of pain is just unbearable.

The ships are gathering dust because of the current changes. I'll dust them off if and when everything gets more stable (and good).

meh ... 1. This is pretty low effort 2. Can you tell me with a straight face that the game is in a worse spot than it was one year ago? 3. What does this post contribute to the subreddit ?

4†
bathozOPHMS Thunder Child [OP]•

Does it contribute, no. I just thought the timing was poor. And versus a year ago? It's definitely in a worse spot. There are better things, but overall it's a less interesting meta.

Note, I haven't played a game since 8.0, so I accept that my view of the current state is heresay.

7
theraven8989Triple Jolly Roger•

Maybe give it a shot so as to form your own opinion instead of complaining about it because people complain on reddit about it? Do cvs need some more balancing? Of course. Is it better than before 8.0 when games were determined before they even started because of the huge skill gap between cv players and because of the power level of old cvs? Hell yeah. Also how can you complain about the meta when you haven't played at all so you don't know what the meta is?

this sub is in full anti cv mode. wait a year, they’ll be looking back at this like how we see the GZ debacle a while ago.

or maybe "improving" means something different in russian

2
archaon_archiBlub•

I think it is always improving. There've made mistakes sometimes, but most of the time they end solving them (and sometimes they are too slow to it). But those changes aren't going to please everybody.

I, for example, enjoyed the old Japanese destroyers. Today that style no longer exists or is extremely difficult to carry out.

1†

The state of the game is not in a good place. WG better fucking wake up before it's too late.

1
KimberlyLippingtonare you feeling it now Mr. Khab?•

Well, they're certainly always trying to change things up, for better or worse. "An attempt was made" is what I would best use to describe the current situation.
