Night before the microdisectomy

After 8 long and hard months we are hopefully at the end of this ordeal whole ordeal.

TLDR: husband has been dealing with a bad hernia toon for 6 years. We managed the pain enough to avoid surgery. Car accident made it far worse. After 8 months of debilitating pain we have exhausted all of our options and surgery is now the only way out.

Long version: We spoke with 6 different neurosurgeons and every single one of them came back with the same thing. We also spoke with neurosurgeons from Colombia (where I’m from) where they are far less surgery friendly. Again, 2 of them said surgery is the only way out.

So here we are the night before. We would probably not be here without sooo many of you guys sharing your stories and being so kind with the 100 questions I had. You all have literally made this experience somewhat bearable. Your stories have also allowed my husband to get over his fear and give surgery a serious look. So Thank you!

Now we are left hoping we are part of the 82-94% lucky ones who this surgery works really well for. Not bad odds, but you all know how it goes.

I’ll make sure to do the usual updates. Day after, 3 days, month and probably 6 month and a year. I’ll try to do a 3 year one at some point. If you have questions I can pass them to my husband and he can answer you guys. Sadly he isn’t an internet person so I’m all you get lol

I will take any prayers, rituals, anything you want to throw at us tomorrow haha
