Has anyone else finished Kellanved’s reach yet? Will the book discussion thread be made when it’s released in North America?

I'm in the UK and just finished it! I really enjoyed it, but felt the pacing was a bit odd

I was thinking something similar 2/3 through the book. I also really enjoyed it

I did like it, but I was genuinely disappointed by the number of mistakes and inconsistencies. The characters are fun to read, but there's so much stuff that doesn't add up/ can't just be explained by conflicting accounts or unreliable narrators.

I mean, that happened with the original 10 too right? Like there’s been a huge timeline mess since at least like toll the hounds(?).

What mistakes and inconsistencies are you talking about?

Twist's name is a big one. His name's not a translation, it's what the Malazan's start calling him after his altercation with a spirit in Blackdog forest.

Tenag Illbaie is named as one of the Logros Bonecasters that await at the First Throne. But that makes absolutely no sense, because he's far too busy being one of the Teblor Gods, ever since the L'aederon Wars.

The timeline confusions in MBOTF sort of make sense if you accept that there are unreliable narrators, and confusion over histories, but those two mistakes in particular annoyed me, as they're so easily proven to be different from the original books.

I just want to know if people liked it or not

I didn't like it :c It had some good parts but overall it was kind of disappointing.

I'm kind of meh about it, myself. Not bad, but definitely the "least good" of the series. Perhaps too many unconnected, or very little connected origin stories in it.
