Tip: Turning off edge lighting changes the notification pop up

I don't know if this is how it worked in oreo as I've always used the edge lighting. If you turn off the edge lighting (in pie) you'll get a different notification popup and a nice animation of it appearing and disappearing. This notification is bigger and has options in the popup.

That was also true in Oreo.

I really like the new pop-up. It's much easier to see stuff and it can be easily swiped away. Some people think it's too big,but I dig it. I also like the edge lighting Pop up (though wish it was dark)

Same. You can pick and choose what notifications use the edge lighting. Course it just another setting to flip on and off depending on your mood. Another reason to love Samsung.

I wish I could have the Edge Lighting on but with the notifications from when it is off. With Edge Lighting ib notifications for Whatsapp when I receive multiple messages from the same person for example show "7 new messages" instead of showing each message the person is sending. Really annoying.

You've always used it? Did you manage to get it working for Whatsapp while screen is off?

Unfortunately I don't use WhatsApp.

If you turn off edge lighting you get regular Android notification boxes.

I've always had edge lighting on since I got my first galaxy, s9+. It's just something I realized today and thought I'd share it. 😁
