is there anything that we can do to get the jimny to the US markets?

question

I've signed the petition and scoured the internet for the past week to see if the Jimny is coming to the US. This seems like the perfect car for me but I don't know what I can do as a customer to tell Suzuki how much we could use this car over in the states.

Any suggestions other than waiting..?

What are some the avenues to get this car rebranded as GM or Toyota? I saw the smaller Toyota fj cruiser concept 2020 car...

Here is the petition:

You could try and import it from one of the markets it’s available in. I know here in Australia (where you couldn’t get many N.American brands) there are companies who will import cars for you. A friend of mine has a Dodge Ram and was the first Australian to get a Camero when they first came.

It’s pretty expensive, and the transfer process from Right hand to left hand drive will be costly. But it’s worth looking into if you want a Jimny bad enough

US import laws require a car to be 25 years old before importing.

Only if you want to register it for use in the street. You can get one brand new if you’re okay with it solely as a trail toy.

It only took 1500 buyers in France to get it imported to their country.

My guess is - they do not have a high interest in the US market right now. In Germany/Austria etc. you cant even buy one right now - most vendors don’t even take orders anymore... The Jimny is just to successful and Suzuki can’t handle it.

Might be worth it to wait for the 2020 model anyways because there are glitches with the current model such as this ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4tWNXPM9eo

typically better to wait a year or two before a new generation of cars. hopefully by then they release it in the US
