What was your turning point?
When did things become sour for you? What was the moment when you realised that you were either no longer a fan or that your enjoyment was, at the very least, shaken?
For me, it was the Ghoul Grumps fiasco, and it wasn't because they didn't do it last year. For me, the issue was the explanation they gave and the lies. Long story short, we were told it was a scheduling error.
They plan their videos weeks in advance and nobody is going to forget Halloween, especially when they plan Halloween episodes on an annual basis. Even in one of their videos, Dan says they should start recording Ghoul Grumps episodes, to which Arin, on camera, says no. Suddenly, we're told it was a scheduling error and they weren't doing Ghoul Grumps this year except for one episode. Days later, when that excuse wasn't accepted, Arin made the apology video where he straight up admits he just didn't want to do it and it wasn't a scheduling error. That was the day I lost respect and interest in this channel.
So, what was it for you? If you have a specific video in mind and can find it, it'd be awesome if you included a link and, if you can, a timestamp.

My tipping point was partially not their fault: The Majora's Mask playthrough and subsequent fallout on this sub made me just say "Fuck it, I'm not supporting this idiot(re: Arin) anymore." This wasn't the first time I've had issues with how he "played" games, or his opinions, but it was the first time that I was actively playing the same game alongside the ongoing playthrough(coincidentally, my first run of MM, itself). Every time he'd say something sucked, things were broken, whatever made-up, over-exaggerated complaints he could come up with, I'd boot up the game for myself and try experiencing what he was talking about. More often than not, my conclusion would be that he was just playing wrong, reading the walkthrough wrong, making something up, or blowing things out of proportion. His few actual complaints were fixed in the 3DS remake, so they were exactly as vacuous as the rest of his opinions.
And his 2 rage-quit rants were completely ridiculous. I've said as much before, but you can't say "I respect other people's opinions that this is a good game" in the same breath as "This game is factually horrible and no one likes it". Especially when that "factually horrible" statement is, by his own admission I'll remind everyone, based on nothing more than the game's popularity.
By all means, if you dislike something, you don't have to justify that distaste. But don't say "No one else can like this thing because I don't". Your own preferences aren't everyone else's realities
I also officially "quit" during the MM playthrough. I get that my favorite game has some flaws and many people who didn't grow up loving it might dislike how it has aged, but it's still a fantastic fucking game. Arin's arguments against it were .01% accurate and 99.99% his own incompetence with 3d Zelda games.
My favourite was MM too. Basically because i played ocarina of time way too much and Majora's mask was much more intricate with all the side questing and the story was more evolved. Though i do expect that from a sequel.
the one time you can factually state someone is playing it wrong is when talking about Arin "this game sucks" hanson
