PSA Ferrari gear ordered online will will have the "Mission Winnow" insignia.

I ordered a Leclerc hat on launch day and upon hearing that Mission Winnow is not going to be allowed by the FIA on the car I emailed Ferrari asking if my hat would still have "Mission Winnow" on the side or if it would be replaced by something else and the reply was: "i can confirm that due to the hats construction, the "Mission Winnow" is part of the items design."

Since they won't be allowed to wear it I canceled my order and will order a new one in a few weeks with the new design.

I would have kept it. It could be pretty limited if it gets banned.

My thoughts exactly. And imagine if Ferrari wins the WCC / one of their drivers becomes WDC, you'd have a rare winning Ferrari collector's item!

Exactly my thoughts!

Mission Winnow is only banned for Australia cause of it’s very strict Smoking rules, they’ll be back having it in Bahrain.

Quite a few countries have advertising restrictions on tobacco companies. Is Australia the only one in the F1 calendar that has these restrictions?

Well tobacco advertising is fully restricted in formula 1 in general.

It's just the Australian authorities aren't buying Ferraris bullshit.

I'm a bit out of the loop but "Mission Winnow" is just a logo and shell company of PMI right? Because they can't directly put the Marlboro brand the cars? Also PMI are a bunch of crooks, their website wanks on about how amazing they are for investing in smoking alternatives but in reality they are still a major cigarette manufacturer. . .

Just received mine, without the mission winnow it would look awful (much like last years) completely blank red hat with a badge on the front

I'm honestly sceptical that the advertising will be banned entirely and recon it'l just be to play it safe for Australia

Really? I actually think the new hats look worse than last year's. Was hoping for more use of the black like they do on the car livery.

Can confirm, my Leclerc shirt came yesterday. Don't mind the branding myself. Prefer something on the front like when Santander used to sponsor Ferrari than left completely blank.

Would you mind if I asked why? I don't understand wanting branding just to have branding. Like what is the cool factor of Santander??? I would get it if it was iconic or at least motorsport related, like: Total, Gulf, Sparco, anything but a bank or cigarette company. Now I know you could argue that cigarettes like Marlboro, West, even Lucky Strike are iconic... But it's not even Marlboro, it's a charity setup by a cigarette company to make them seem like better people. I guess it boils down to whats wrong with Ferrari red? Fangio (just as an example) raced in cars without any branding but the manufacturer on it, are you saying those cars would be cooler with Santander or Pfizer slapped on the side?

The brand isn’t the cool factor, but paying £50 for a blank t shirt isn’t cool either

I don't get why I ask why people think it looks better with a bank or other logo that isn't actually team related. What's wrong with a shirt that just has the Ferrari (etc) logo? Then you wouldn't have to spend a bunch of money every time a team changes title sponsors. Like a Ferrari will always be red and have a prancing horse. I mean look at Red Bull, I like most of their shirts and stuff, they say Red Bull with some small logos (cause I concede that F1 is commercialized like crazy these days).

So my question to you would be, just as a hypothetical, if Ferarri started being title sponsored by Preparation H you would be more excited about a shirt with that printed in big letters than a red shirt with the Ferrari logo and some other Ferrari touchs? I mean we already see dandruff shampoo as a pretty big sponsor on the Williams, so I don't think it's that crazy.

No, but if they had it blank then i want the prices to go down

lol, someone buying a Valentino Rossi t-shirt but intead of having a big yellow 46 on it, it's just plain white t-shirt....

BUT IT'S OFFICIAL !!

A driver (or in that case rider) number is totally different than a big business logo. And they wouldn't be blank, they'd still have team/manufacturer logos. I just don't understand how a bank logo adds to a piece of racing team gear.

That's why I bought last year's stuff so they don't have the branding
