Is there any reason at all to farm for tier 1 Gambit Prime armors right now?

Since tier 2 and 3 are coming out in a couple of days? Unless there's a way to directly update tier 1 armors to the other tiers, why would I waste resources and time on something that will become obsolete in a matter of days?
