After seeing Fury’s first interaction with aliens, I really wish we could see him acting as the MCU’s version of the man on the wall. I’d even settle for a montage in a future movie. Also it would kinda bind the gap between young happy Fury in the 90’s and the older paranoid hardass he eventually became.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does "man on the wall" mean?
It is a title given to fury during the original sin storyline in the comics. Essentially he operated behind the scenes stopping earth threats before they reached the point where heroes would be needed. Like an inter dimensional/space spy/assassin.
Thanks for the explanation!
Nick and Phil are the only ones qualified for that lol
If I considered AoU canon that is.
Everyone’s debating if Sam or Bucky will take over Captain America. It would be cool if Sam becomes Cap and Bucky becomes the man on the wall.
Although I feel they’ve set Coulson up as the MCU’s man on the wall.
I wouldn’t be mad at all if Disney made a man on the wall show with coulson. Hell if they do it in the Sam and Bucky show I’d be ecstatic.
