These are the controllers to have! The og xbox variants were good as well. Someday I'll look for mine, think I'm missing the receiver's though :(
How long have you had yours?
The dark one i’ve had a few months, white one came today. Both had damage from leaked batteries and needed sorting out. I couldnt face to pay through the nose for them so it was the only way
I would gladly buy some of these if they were discounted and needed some tlc. Care to say what you got them for? I haven't checked their prices in ages
Its UK prices. The dark one was £20 bundled with a logitech pc joystick. It was not in the ps2 controllers section on ebay and “Logitec” was misspelled so zero competition. Sold the joystick for £10 but suffered a few quid postage.
The white one came as an ebay bundle for £39 delivered, half of which was not even pictured. Included was a hardmodded 90k ps2, 2 broken ds2 pads, a dance mat, 2 sony memory cards, about 20 copied games and astonishingly a PS3 Move controller (nearly worth the money alone)
I spend too much time trawling 2nd hand sites. I love the misspelled and badly written ads with awful pictures that put everyone else off bidding. Every now and then you get a filthy box of hidden gems.
If you want a great buck for the price kind of deal, check out Brook's PS3/PS4 to PS2 bluetooth dongle.
I'd personally go with this setup than with overpriced Logitech controller, because if there will be some problems with the controller, you won't be able to even find any spare parts.
The Brook dongles are a more futureproof option for sure. However you do have to factor in the price of DS3s or DS4s, which people almost always conveniently forget in such discussions ("I already had them lying around").
As you say, it is way easier to repair/replace official controllers particularly if they are still being manufactured.
Cool, did not know these even existed!
They are my favorite. I have had the black one forever.
I have one of these, in Black. It's great, but the only thing I don't like is they were clearly made before the PS2 slim came out since the receiver sticks out from the bottom of my slim and makes the PS2 unleveled
These are great. I don’t have my original anymore but I need to get one again. I used to kick back with this controller and spend hours with Splinter Cell on a projector.
Yo! My neighbor had these. Now that I can afford them I don’t have the time to make it worth buying them :( They felt so next gen at the time.
I have one of these for the Xbox. They have a really unconventional shape but it's actually really comfortable to just mess around with them.
Anybody remember that third party PS2 controller a company made with built in fans to cool your sweaty hands?
I got that one for PS3. Its from logitech.
Nyko? They made quite a few controllers and computer mouse with built in fans for the different platform around that time.
Best wireless controllers I have ever owned. I still don't have the Xbox ones. I would say that they about as good as 360 controllers.
Maybe someone could help me. I just recently bought one off EBay and I cant get the controller to connect to the receiver, any tips at all on getting it to connect?
These work really well
I kinda need to resync alot and FFXII is finicky
These look WAY better than my official Sony PS2 wireless controller. How heavy are these?
I dunno exactly, about as much as a DS2 with two AA's strapped to the back?
Didn't know there was a white one, sweet! I have a silver one 😁
You had to do it didn’t you. Now i have to find a god damn silver one
Lol ah crap sorry!
Great controller. I have a couple of these in black and a different version call the Logitech precision controller which looks more like a PC controller Logitech makes. Both have held up well for over a decade.
Never knew these existed until reddit turned me on to them. I have a black one and it works super well.
Anyone know if these have pressure sensitive buttons? All the wireless controllers I have tried so far dont work well for games with driving
Yes it does have analog face buttons but the rumble is not quite as good as a DS2.
Also the shoulder buttons are not to everyone's taste.
It's asinine how many sellers on ebay seem to be selling these without the receiver. You can't even use them that way. And on top of that they still want $15-20.
I want to be generous, but I suspect many have the receiver and want to sell it separately for additional money which would be deceptive BS in my book.
I had the left one back in the glory days, it was such a good one
Nice I just got one! Is there a way to turn this off without removing one of the batteries?
I believe it auto powers off either with the console or after inactivity
I have them too, mine look a little different, they have different buttons but otherwise look just the same. I bought mine at garage sales for $1 each. These are the best controllers for the PS2. One of mine has a button that is kind of strange, its flipped over, either someone made a repair or it got messed up at the factory. I have no idea, but the controller works fine.
There was a version that was not a Sony licensed product. It has no PS logo and the buttons are designed to be recognisable but subtlely different.
I cannot remember whether the licensed one came first or vice versa. But i believe they are otherwise functionally identical
Damn it... I was perfectly happy not knowing that Logitech made a Final Fantasy variant of these controllers, and now, because of you, I need one this very moment.
yeah what the fuck
that white one is far sexier than it has any right to be!
nice haul OP!
Amen....
Logitech made a white EA sports(?) one too but I think it was for the Xbox.
I have the white EA-branded one for the PS2. Works fine (grinding through DQ8).
Haha i know the feeling. I hope to god there are no other variants out there. If there are i don’t want to know
