How is everyone enjoying mangler?

I’m knocking some of the anniversary stuff out of the way before I start on mangler and was curious how everyone is enjoying it?

I've only been in G Faydark, but I love seeing it so highly populated. Reminds me of the old days, as in 99-2000 era EQ.

Yea I'm over on Selo's instead, but it was weird seeing 15+ in Shar Vahl with people oocing about the citizenship quest like in the old days.

Loving it. Running a DE Enchanter right now- Blueman.

Been running around trying to level a little but of everywhere and soak in all the nostalgia.

Befallen, unrest, guk, Sro crocs- its been awesome so far. I really enjoy the fact that every zone is packed with adventurers.

I dread when that goes away.

took over an hour to go from level 4 to 5 killing stuff on my monk lol. we screwed!

I played for about two hours last night with a decent group. We were constantly killing things so I went from 6 to 9 in roughly two hours. So not as bad as I would have thought.

Amazingly Perfect time and don't even mind being tired at work due to playing so long

This is my first time playing everquest and I'm enjoying it. Playing a necromancer. I've played for five hours and I'm only level 4 and a half so i hope I'm not doing something wrong

Perfectly normal for a new player. There are so many tips and tricks you learn over the years that speed things up. Most importantly, knowing exactly which level mobs spawn and where, knowing the game mechanics and power of the mobs you're fighting and where to go to find everything. It'll speed up as you go. Once you're level 5+, you can begin finding groups and that speeds things up considerably. This is a grouping game and even though you're playing probably the best solo class, it's always going to be a hell of a lot slower soloing on EQ because mobs are meant to be killed by a group, generally.

My advice would be to type "/lfg on" to enter yourself into the LFG tool and then "/lfg" to open the LFG window. Then use the note section to say something along the lines of "New to EQ, looking for a group", click "Update Status" and you'll soon get whispers from players explaining where to go and what to do. Enjoy!

Yes especially if you are actually trying to follow your quest line and fighting the rare spawns and low drop rates and the crowds trying to get the same items you are.

Cool thanks

First time playing Everquest and I enjoy it a lot. Started off as a human monk but debating if I should roll another toon. Something better for soloing but does melee DPS. Was thinking of rolling as a SK or a necro for the pet as people said it’s best solo class.

I like it! There are a lot of people on and plenty of people to group with, which is the best part.

I got a group of friends to try it. I was kind of enjoying but all my friends would rather play EQ2. They barely gave EQ1 a chance. Literally got to level 2 died a couple times and they decided they didn't want to play anymore. So looks like I will have to play solo if I want to play anymore.I do enjoy EQ2 also but was really hoping to play both.

So far its great. The first day was a bit of a shitshow but honestly its kind of impressive that a 20 year old game can draw enough of a surge to cause that.

Loving it so far! My first time playing progression from launch and I'm excited to see all the content.

I have been having fun. I got my Druid to 10 yesterday and my bard is 6.

I will probably main the Bard and use Druid while working/solo farming coin... maybe I should have made a mage or Necromancer for that

vicex•

Funny. I’m doing same combo except bard is 17 and Druid is 4 :) also torn on Druid vs necro or wizard.

Good, but I'm unsure where many people start to go for groups these days after GFay and CB (I haven't played since 2002). N. Ro/OoM then Upper Guk then...?

2

Give Unrest a try at 12, should be lots of groups.

Oasis and SRo were combined, FYI. Part of the Freeport area revamp they did awhile back.

Wow, that must be quite a big zone! I'll be interested to see it. Thanks for the tip!

I came to sell some Krono i got with no intention on playing.

Rolled a char for kicks... sucked right back in. I love old EQ so much. I really wish someone would just make an updated chill pve EQ game.

It's funny, after being back a couple weeks I stopped noticing the visual downgrade. Give it a chance if you're having fun :P

more that I know the game in and out.
