[DISCUSSION] Do you bring back up guitars to shows?

DISCUSSION

So i played the first show with a new band. Now every show i’ve ever played I’ve bought a spare les paul (epiphone) incase i break a string on my strat etc etc. Now i’ve never broken a string in my life.

Recently i’ve had to sell that les paul because i never actually play it. And i reasoned with myself that i’ve never actually had to resort to using it on stage.

So we begin playing our set yesterday and, 7 minutes into the set, just as we’ve transitioned from our jam into a song, i feel the strings are oddly loose and.... my top E string has snapped. I had to play another 3 minutes and fiddle a solo on a 5 string guitar before i ran off stage to borrow a jaguar (which was perhaps the most uncomfortable guitar i’ve ever played). I can only thank god that my bandmates decided to jam ‘i feel love’ and gave me time to get myself sorted.

So honestly idk what the point of this post was. Its just a very unlucky and ironic story i felt like sharing
