Tristar / other part-timers

I live for the underdog teams. I actually enjoy seeing 38/40 cars showing up each weekend.

Anyone hear anything after Tristar’s announcement they were skipping Daytona?

Figured they would take the West Coast swing off... but was expecting them to turn up by now. Havent seen anything posted on their social media in a while.

I am hopeful we will return to full fields this summer. Any buzz from Tristar, Baldwin, NY Racing?

I know Obiaka is a dumpster fire which wont see the track 😂

According to Wally Rogers, TriStar is still around, but they've been helping Korbin Forrister's All Out Motorsports on the Truck side rather than the Cup team.

He also posted this pic of the #7 truck on Instagram, with the location listed as TriStar's shop.

This has been normal last couple of years. Car counts are pathetic early, but by mid-summer *someone* is rolling to the track for the guaranteed spot. you'll get back to 40. But the days of 45+ showing up is long over.

All those teams that are going to miss the Martinsville truck race are going to wish they just brought Cup cars. Haha

First of all, every race this year has had a full field.

As far as what teams we can expect to see, TBR essentially showed up last week. The crew of Premium’s #27 entry was the same as TBR’s #71 that they brought to Daytona. TriStar is supposed to be running part-time, but who knows if they actually will. I could very easily see them being another TMG. The rest, as far as I know, are a complete mystery.

I know 36 is “full” but in my heart i still think of a full field being 40!

Think that guy was getting at all charters used? (Just a guess) but yeah full field means 40 cars

I don’t care what NASCAR says, if more cars can show up without anyone DNQing, the field isn’t full.

37/40, 38/40, 36/40, 38/40. . .sorry, how are those full fields? I'll give you Daytona because there were 42 cars entered and 40 raced, but none of the other races have had full fields from what I've seen.

36 cars is a full field.

Please explain to me how that's the case when 40 cars are allowed to start.

NASCAR defines a full field as 36 cars. Anything after that is a bonus.

Edit: There are few things on this sub that I enjoy more than being downvoted for saying things that are factually correct.
