International fans: We most likely have to wait until the single officially comes out
on 3/27 until it appears on Spotify/iTunes/etc. 🙂
Hopefully we will get their entire discography on Spotify. I believe that when a band changes labels, the original label or the one that paid to have the music produced owns the distribution of said music, unless a deal has been worked out (knowing SMEJ, moving to Victor was probably a last resort). Hopefully someone with more knowledge of record label contracts can clarify.

Reaaaaallly hoping this and the rest of their discography gets releases to us internationally
If they do not own the rights to distribute their older stuff, they do have the option to re-record all their songs and distribute those, but I personally do not know how I would feel about that. I wouldn't say no to a re-recording, but the originals are special.
They didn't write their older songs, so they don't really own any rights to them whatsoever. Not by default, anyway. There would have to be a really unusual contract that would give them the right to re-record any of those songs.
I just checked their discography and actually most of their songs even at the start is written by at least of the members of Scandal. And starting from Hello World most of their songs are also composed by Scandal themselves.
See JASRAC database for more info, for the songs lyrics/score you will see Scandal/individual members as the authors, but the publishers/license holders would be Sony/Epic and recently Rooftop Music, Masterpiece is yet to be listed for licensing yet.
JASRAC database is used say if you want to use a song and check who to get license for a advert/commercial etc. Listing does include song for which commercial is was used in.
But on Spotify you will notice Victor Entertainment is listed as the Copyright and Sound recording copyright, EPIC Copyright for the older songs. It gets all rather complicated.
JASRAC are also notorious known for collecting loyalties, i.e you play a song in your own restaurant in public, they will collect license fees for it. So most restaurant sign up for commercial streaming services to deal with the royalties.
But it also means very easy to license music for your your own documentary/film etc.
Same old story I know from Sony insider older Scandal music is not available outside Japan as Sony doesn't want to do it for whatever reason and seems to be out of Scandal's control. (Not just Scandal but for many artists)
Yeah, Im in the same boat
