Newbie Question: Name/Alias on Wikidot Account?

I'm trying to start a Wikidot account in order to apply for SCP Foundation membership (I have a lot of vivid nightmares I'd love to share), and would love to use "Dr. Wyley Guycott" as an alias, but the sign-on page gives me the error message "please stick to letters, numbers, and basic punctuation," so my question is, would my Wikidot log-in name be disconnected from my SCP Foundation name, that is, does Wikidot use traditional usernames while the SCP Foundation will follow up with an additional "staff name" prompt? I've Googled this question in multiple wordings but have found nothing to help out with this particular issue.
